Frequently Asked Questions
1. Where can I find product dimensions and capacity?
Check the product page for measurements, capacity, piece count, and weight. Review the exact variant because a bowl, mug, or utensil sold separately may not have the same dimensions as a similarly named piece in a set. If a required measurement is missing, contact us with the SKU before ordering.
2. What exactly is included in a dinnerware or flatware set? Set contents vary by collection, size, and selected variant. On the KINGSTONE product page, review the product title, size options, and the item list in the Description or Product Selling Points. Confirm each piece type, quantity, and number of place settings rather than relying only on the total piece count; larger flatware sets may also include serving utensils.
3. Can a separately sold piece differ from the same piece in a set?
It may. Capacity, dimensions, weight, finish, or production batch can differ even when the pattern name is similar. Compare the SKU and listed specifications before purchasing a replacement or add-on piece.
4. What do 18/10, 18/8, and 18/0 mean in stainless steel?
The first number generally refers to chromium content and the second to nickel content. Chromium supports corrosion resistance; nickel can add luster and corrosion resistance. KINGSTONE products should be described according to the grade stated on the exact product page—do not assume every stainless-steel item uses the same alloy.
5. Are light scratches on stainless-steel flatware normal?
Fine surface marks can develop when stainless-steel utensils contact plates, other utensils, or abrasive materials during normal use. This is cosmetic. Deep scratches, rough burrs, peeling finish, sharp edges, or marks present on arrival should be photographed and reported for review.
6. Can I buy a single replacement or add-on piece?
Search the collection or pattern name on kingstone.com. If the piece is listed separately, it can be purchased subject to availability. If it is not listed, contact us with the SKU; individual pieces are not guaranteed for every collection.
7. What do “reactive glaze” and “decal decoration” mean?
Reactive glaze develops color and tonal variation during firing, so related pieces may not look perfectly identical. Decal decoration applies a printed design to the ceramic and fires it in place. These terms describe appearance and process—not microwave, dishwasher, or oven safety. Always check the care instructions separately.
8. What is the tiny pinhole or removable inspection mark on the underside?
A small underside support mark or removable inspection mark can result from firing or quality-control handling and may not affect use. Clean removable marks with warm soapy water and a soft sponge. If the area is sharp, cracked, unglazed in a food-contact area, or growing, stop use and send photos for review.
1. Are slight color, glaze, or pattern variations normal?
Small variations can occur in reactive-glaze or artisan-style dinnerware and are part of the intended appearance. However, sharp edges, cracks, unstable bases, glaze loss in food-contact areas, or major mismatches should be reported with photos for review.
2. Is my dinnerware dishwasher safe?
Check the product page or marking for your specific pattern. If dishwasher safe, separate pieces so they cannot knock together, use a mild non-abrasive detergent, and let pieces cool before handling. Hand washing is the gentlest option for fine china and decorated pieces.
3. My set is missing a piece or contains the wrong item. What should I do?
Please send your order number, SKU, package label, and a photo of everything received. Tell us exactly which piece and quantity are missing or incorrect. We will verify the set and arrange the appropriate replacement or other resolution.
4. My dinnerware arrived broken or chipped. What should I do?
Stop using the affected pieces. Send your order number, SKU, damaged quantity, and clear photos to support@kingstone.com. Once reviewed, we will arrange a replacement or refund and provide any return instructions.
5. Is my dinnerware microwave safe?
Use the microwave only when the exact product page or base marking says it is microwave safe. Never microwave dinnerware with gold, platinum, or other metallic decoration. Do not heat an empty piece, and use an oven mitt because the dish may become hot.
6. Can I use the dinnerware in the oven or freezer?
Only use a piece in the oven or freezer if the product instructions specifically allow it. Dinnerware is sensitive to thermal shock: never move it directly between freezer, hot oven, microwave, cold water, or a wet surface. Dinnerware is not a stovetop cooking vessel.
7. How should I store dinnerware to prevent chips and scratches?
Store pieces clean and dry. Do not force oversized stacks into a cabinet. If surfaces or decorations may rub, place soft protectors between pieces, and keep heavy pieces from pressing on delicate rims.
8. How can I reduce stains from coffee, tea, or strongly colored foods?
Rinse soon after use, especially after coffee, tea, sauces, or acidic foods. Wash with mild detergent and a soft sponge. Avoid leaving food or beverages in the piece for long periods and do not use steel wool or abrasive powders.
1. Where do you ship?
We currently ship to the contiguous 48 U.S. states. We do not ship to P.O. boxes or APO/FPO/DPO addresses, or to PR, AK, HI, GU, AA, AE, or AP.
2. How long will my order take to arrive?
Orders are usually processed within 1–2 business days. Estimated transit time is 3–7 business days for standard shipping or 2–4 business days for expedited shipping. Timing begins after shipment and may vary because of destination, carrier, weather, holidays, or demand.
3. How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is a $9.95 flat rate. Expedited shipping is calculated at checkout. Orders over $65 qualify for free standard shipping within the contiguous U.S. after discounts, unless a promotion states otherwise.
4. How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, we will email you a tracking number. An order may arrive in more than one package, and items purchased together may ship on different days.
5. Can I change or cancel my order?
Contact support@kingstone.com as soon as possible. We will try to help, but once an order enters processing or ships, changes or cancellation may no longer be possible.
6. What should I do if my package is delayed or marked delivered but missing?
Check the tracking details, delivery area, household members, and neighbors first. If the package still cannot be located or tracking has not moved unusually long, email support@kingstone.com with your order number and tracking number so we can investigate.
7. How do I report a damaged, defective, missing, or incorrect item?
Email support@kingstone.com promptly with your order number, item/SKU, a brief description, and clear photos or video. Include the damaged or missing quantity. After review, we will provide the appropriate replacement, refund, or return instructions.
8. What is your return policy?
Products purchased from a KINGSTONE authorized online store are covered by a 90-day return period from delivery. Non-quality returns must be unused, in original packaging, and approved before shipment. Contact support@kingstone.com before sending anything back.
1. An item is not on the website. Is it discontinued?
It may be sold out, temporarily unavailable, renamed, or discontinued. Search the collection name or SKU first, then contact us if you need confirmation. Availability of matching add-on pieces cannot be guaranteed.
2. I did not receive an order confirmation. Did my order go through?
Check your spam or promotions folder and confirm that the email address entered at checkout is correct. You can also sign in to review recent orders. If no confirmation appears, contact us with your name, checkout email, order time, and payment reference—do not place a second order until the first is checked.
3. I may have placed the same order twice. What should I do?
Review your order history and confirmation emails for separate order numbers. Contact support@kingstone.com immediately with both order numbers. We will try to stop a duplicate, but cancellation is not guaranteed after processing begins.
4. Why is my promotion code not working?
Check the spelling, capitalization, expiration time, minimum spend, eligible products, and whether the code is limited to first-time customers. Only the discount shown at checkout is applied. If the code should qualify but still fails, take a screenshot and contact us before completing payment.
5. Do you offer wholesale, hospitality, school, or bulk purchasing?
For business or volume inquiries, contact support@kingstone.com with the product/SKU, quantity, destination, required date, and organization type. Availability, pricing, shipping, returns, and warranty terms may differ from consumer orders and must be confirmed in writing.
