Hammered 12 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

I love the look I love the feel. It’s sturdy family loves them.

I ordered this 12-piece matte marble porcelain set for my daughter, who is planning to move out soon, but unpacked them completely to inspect and review them first.Right out of the box, the quality is apparent. The dishes are noticeably thick, have a good weight to them, and feel substantially well-made. The black matte marble pattern looks modern and stylish. However, the tactile feel is worth noting: there is a gritty, rough outer ring on the plates, paired with a distinct, sandpaper-like texture right in the middle.Personally, I much prefer a completely smooth glaze on my dinnerware, so the texture wasn't for me. That said, my daughter absolutely loves the look and feel of them, and since they are for her future place, they are a win. Giving it 4 stars for solid build quality and design, just be aware of the texture if you are sensitive to rougher finishes!

I need to say that these dishes are beautiful and unique, which is why I purchased them to begin with (and why this is a three-star review rather than lower). They were packaged well, didn’t come chipped or broken, and were sent with care.We had two issues with them: 1.) The dinner plates seemed smaller than the typical dinner plate; it could be that the rim creates the feeling of a smaller eating surface, but they seemed small. 2.) The material was unappealing, scratchy, and (as mentioned in another review), created a “nails on chalkboard” sound with utensils.As much as we loved the look of the dishes, we just couldn’t get past the gritty texture and the grating, unpleasant sound of utensils scraping across rough, textured stone.

Absolutely beautiful plates! Even prettier than the photos but heavily textured. If a rough texture is an issue for you don’t purchase. They are heavy and have held up well in the dishwasher. Very giftable and beautiful quality.

We needed to update our everyday plates, and this black marble set caught my eye. Eating at home a lot with my two daughters, who are 12 and 14, means we go through a ton of dishes, so I wanted something durable but nice looking for the table.My favorite thing about these plates and bowls is the matte finish. The pattern makes them look like they are made of stone. Very cool design that has a nice heavy feel to it without being overly bulky. It is a welcome departure from plain white, fragile dishes. The dinner plates have a slight lip on the edge which keeps food from sliding off, and the pasta bowls are a great size for hearty meals.As for dislikes, the matte black finish does tend to show water spots if you let them air dry instead of toweling them off straight out of the dishwasher. It is a minor inconvenience. Also, the bowls are pretty wide, so they take up a good amount of real estate on the bottom dishwasher rack.When it comes to value for the money, you get a great deal here. For premium porcelain, the price is completely reasonable for a 12-piece set that covers a family of four.I am giving this set a 5-star rating because the design is totally unique and the overall build quality is top notch. The minor water spot issue is easy to ignore or quickly wipe away, and the fact that these dishes bring such a rugged, clean look to the dining room makes them entirely worth the purchase.
