Macaron 12 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

I have a partiular fondness for more utilitarian style dishware, especially when the dishes have raised edges (or deep coupe rims) that dramatically prevent spilling, like these do.My everyday plates are the classic Corelle Luxe Atlas style, and these plates from KINGSTONE��while not as durable or resistant to breaking��share that general vibe. These are easy to stack, nest well, are reasonably lightweight, and are fairly durable for ceramics due to their bonemeal content and other fillers (though they WILL break if dropped). Plus, they look really nice. They're very modern.As far as quality goes, KINGSTONE has been reliable.We have several sets of dinnerware from the brand, and all of it has been really good. I would suggest only that the asking price here is a little bit steep. Of course, bone china is generally more expensive than typical ceramics, which is justified by the fact that it's also usually less heavy and more durable. I once dropped a KINGSTONE bone china bowl onto the floor from counter height, and while it did break, it didn't shatter or splinter. It just split into three big pieces. A bummer, but an easy bummer to clean up.So, while these are durable, they're not going to survive a typical fall. You still need to treat these plates like any other ceramics or porcelain. They're dishwasher safe, but be careful putting too much pressure on them when loading up the machine. (This goes for any typical drying rack, too; I once broke an "unbreakable" dish by leaning too much stuff against it in a drying rack and leveraging it directly in half.)If you like the look of this set, I think the price is mostly fair. It's not appreciably higher than other bone china sets, but it's not as cheap as more mainstream everyday options. I'm happy with these, though, and I wouldn't mind getting another set to bring my table service total up to eight places.NOTES:?? As with other similarly constructed ceramics, these will glow a sort of translucent yellow-green color when lit from the inside. That's not likely to come up very often, but it's pretty neat, and it looks pretty cool (see attached pics).PROS?? Great shape and size for all components?? Raised lip/edge is very practical; prevents accidental spills?? Lightweight and durable?? Easily stackable; all dishes nest well?? Good quality ceramics from reputable manufacturer?? Aesthetically pleasing; very modern look?? Securely packaged; no boken items?? Multiple attractive color options availableCONS?? Could be a little bit less expensiveVERDICT?? I would buy this again.

Per the store description, this a a minimalist set of lightweight every day use dinnerware.I was actually surprised at how well these were packaged, considering lately most items look like they've been drug through a gravel pit. Nothing was damaged!Removing them from the box, you can see that they are translucent as described - not sure why that really matters. They are also light and plain looking - both a plus in my book, especially for everyday usage. They're also microwave and dishwasher safe, and they stack neatly.So, is it worth it for around $76? Depends on what you're looking for, but considering that many dinnerware sets that have any sort of design on them are much more expensive, I'd say these aren't badly priced. Sure, you could find cheaper sets for everyday use, but they'll likely be heavier and opaque - not that that is a bad thing, but again, depends on what you're looking for. This set comes across as a little more elevated than the cheaper stuff, but not quite as elegant as the more expensive stuff.I could see giving these to someone as a housewarming gift, or for some young adult just setting out on their own.

Beautiful dinnerware. Sturdy but light weight. Fits easily into the cupboards and full size dishwasher. Would buy again and again.
