Aquaria 18 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 6

We have several sets of dishes from KINGSTONE, and they've all been very nice. A few of the sets have become personal favorites and have even come close to displacing our Corelle Luxe Atlas plates as our daily drivers. (Those are so utilitarian and bulletproof that they're hard to replace, of course, so the comparison isn't really fair.)Most of the KINGSTONE stuff is decidedly fancier, but it's also more delicate. This set is similarly fancier and more delicate.Everything here is pretty good.The bowls are not huge, but they're adeqaute for soup and cereral and snacks and so on. The plates are of the coupe rim variety and have high rims, which is my preference in dinnerware generally. This makes spills easier to prevent, and it also makes stacking nice and neat. The plates all nest well and take up minimal space in the cupboard.The ceramic quality is good, but unlike Corelle Vitrelle style ceramics and unlike bone china, it won't have much of a chance to survive a drop. It's just a basic thick ceramic. The weight is on the higher side, which is a benefit or a detriment depending on your preferences. Personally, I like lightweight dinnerwear, so these are more for table service than couch or sofa service (or balanced-on-your-belly-in-the-recliner service).Anyway, while the stackable shape of these dishes is great, the glaze is the star of the show. Our plates are the "Navy Blue" color, which is more of a black and blue gradient/fade. It looks really nice, and the glaze's color is applied evenly. The glaze is also markedly thick, which adds to the substantial feeling of the set. The crackle effect is attractive, and it gives each dish and bowl a slightly unique and nonuniform look.The ad says these dishes are dishwasher and microwave safe, and I'm sure they are. We don't actually own a microwave (wife's idea; I don't get it, and I miss microwave popcorn), but we've run these through the dishwasher many times to no ill effect.The only real negative—and this is true for all KINGSTONE stuff generally—is the price. These plates are definitely overpriced and should probably cost maybe 60–70% what they currently retail for. This is an absolutely beautiful dinnerware set. The entire set is high quality very solid, have good weight, and sit flat and stable on the table. The design adds a nice touch and looks great all around. Every single piece in this set is consistent with no flaws and great color throughout. This would be a great dinner set when hosting parties to add a bit of elegance to what you're serving. Obviously this set can be used daily, but it can also be used in a formal setting and still look great. Overall this is a high quality very nice dinnerware set and well worth the cost. Clean up is easy since they can go into the dishwasher. These plates are versatile enough to be used everyday, or used to entertain guest.

I've been looking for a new dinnerware set for a while as the set we were currently using is a mix of several sets since certain pieces have been broken or chipped over time. As I prefer stoneware when I saw this set I immediately picked it up. The main thing that caught my attention was the color and design. The blue to black ombre is striking when food is plated and really elevates a dish. The sizes are perfect for our needs and fit comfortably in our cabinets. Being stoneware they are very durable and not likely to chip with normal use. Add to that they are microwave and dishwasher safe! The bowls are a decent size for soups or cereals without being overly large. These colorful, minimalist dishes are a great way to elevate your kitchen without spending a ton of money. Overall I would highly recommend this set if you're just starting out furnishing a home or you're ready for a new set of dishware.

The pictures don't do this set justice. The color and finish are much nicer in person, and the quality was better than I expected.The blue has a beautiful depth to it, and the reactive glaze gives the pieces enough variation to make them interesting without making the set look mismatched.The stoneware is substantial and well made. Everything arrived extremely well packed and intact.We've been using the set regularly, and I've stuck with the care directions and washed everything by hand with a soft sponge. They clean very easily and still look great.I especially love the bowls. The deeper shape with the straighter sides is different from the regular rounded bowls I'm used to, and somehow they just feel cozier to use.It's hard to describe, but it's the bowl equivalent of drinking coffee from an oversized mug you want to curl up with. It's a small design difference that makes me enjoy using them more.This was one of those rare cases where what came out of the box looked and felt better than what I thought I was ordering.

I fell in love with this set the moment I took the first piece out of the box.This set is absolutely gorgeous. I've gotten Kingstone dinnerware sets before but I think this one might be my absolute favorite. It went straight into the dishwasher and became my everyday set.The lip is great for us, because we can spill almost anything on a plate that's remotely liquid. It's the perfect weight for stoneware and so far, no scratches or anything. I love the quality and have no doubt I'll be using this set for years to come. And honestly, I might have to purchase another set so that i can have more plates.The only issue is that the dinner plates might be a problem in the dishwasher. I washed them once, but let them lean and they were fine. But if you put them straight up, they might hit the blade on the bottom of the upper rack. I don't remotely care. I'm happy to handwash these just so I can have the beauty for every meal.The bowls have a unique shape. I actually love putting them out with dips and things because they're so pretty. They're obviously fine for everything from cereal to soup. The sides are straight up and they're somewhat higher and possibly a smaller diameter than my other bowls? It makes them stand out. In a good way.Couldn't recommend these enough. I couldn't be more happy with this set if I tried.
